Oldman River Basin - Water Supply Forecasts - Update

Based on precipitation received so far in the month of April, reasonable minimums (for the March to September 2002 forecast period) in the southern tributaries have increased subtantially from the April 1 forecast. The reasonable minimum forecasts for the three southern tributaries have been revised as of April 17, 2002 and are shown below:

St. Mary River

April 1 Forecast Reasonable Minimum - 52 % of average
Revised Reasonable Minimum forecast as of April 17, 2002 - 451,000 dam3 or 60 % of average

Waterton River

April 1 Forecast Reasonable Minimum - 43 % of average
Revised Reasonable Minimum forecast as of April 17, 2002 - 329,000 dam3 or 50 % of average

Belly River

April 1 Forecast Reasonable Minimum - 51 % of average
Revised Reasonable Minimum forecast as of April 17, 2002 - 137,000 dam3 or 56 % of average
