Reservoir Storage Conditions

As of April 1, 2005, water storage in the major irrigation reservoirs in the Oldman River basin is above normal, except for Keho Lake and Milk River Ridge Reservoir, which are normal. Water storage in the basin is generally much greater than at this time last year.

Water storage as of April 1, 2005 in the major hydroelectric and irrigation reservoirs of the Bow River basin is normal to above normal, except for Ghost Reservoir, which is below normal. Water storage is greater than last year at this time, except at Ghost Reservoir, which it is slightly lower.

Water storage in the major reservoir of the Red Deer River basin is above normal. Water storage in the Dickson Reservoir is greater than at this time last year.

Storage volumes in the major hydroelectric reservoirs in the North Saskatchewan River basin are above normal. Water storages in both reservoirs, Lake Abraham and Brazeau Reservoir, are much greater than last year at this time.

In the Athabasca River basin, the storage volume at the Paddle River Reservoir is normal, and above normal at the South Heart Reservoir. Both volumes are much higher than at this time last year.
