Reservoir Storage Conditions

As of April 1, 2007, water storage in the major irrigation reservoirs in the Oldman River basin is generally above normal, except for the Travers Reservoir which is normal and Lake McGregor (above South Dam) which is below normal. Water storage in the basin is similar to storage at this time last year, except in Travers Reservoir which is slightly lower than last year.

Storage volume in the Milk River Ridge Reservoir is normal and similar to this time last year.

Water storage as of April 1, 2007 in the major hydroelectric and irrigation reservoirs of the Bow River basin is generally normal, except for Barrier Reservoir which is above normal and Ghost Reservoir which is below normal. Water storage at Spray Lake, Lake Minnewanka, Lower Kananaskis Lake and Ghost Reservoir are lower than last year, while storage in the remaining reservoirs is generally similar to last year.

Water storage in the Dickson Reservoir, in the Red Deer River basin, is above normal; slightly higher than at this time last year.

In the North Saskatchewan River basin, water storage in Lake Abraham is above normal and storage is similar to this time last year. Water storage in the Brazeau Reservoir is normal and storage is approximately 50% lower than at this time last year.

Water storage in the Paddle River Reservoir in the Athabasca River basin is below normal and higher than at this time last year.
