Red Deer River Basin - Water Supply Forecasts

As of August 1, 2008, natural runoff volumes for the March to September 2008 period are forecast to be much above average into Dickson Dam and for the Red Deer River at Red Deer, at 143 and 132% of average, respectively (Table 5a). The current forecasted volume at Red Deer would rank 16th highest in 91-years of record (1912-2001), while inflow to the Dickson Dam would rank thirteenth highest.
 

The first five months of the forecast period have been completed, with March-July 2008 recorded runoff volumes being eighth highest on record at Dickson Dam and seventeenth highest at Red Deer. Recorded volume data is preliminary and is subject to change. The remaining volume forecast, for August to September 2008, and available in Table 5b, is for above average natural runoff volumes.
