Mountain Water Supply Forecast Summary

Below average natural runoff volumes are forecast as of January 1, 2005 in the Milk River basin for the March to September 2005 period. Monthly water supply forecasts will begin in February's report for the Milk, Oldman, Bow, Red Deer and North Saskatchewan River basins as well as for the plains areas of the province.

These forecasts assume that precipitation over the remainder of the winter period and through the summer period will be normal. Precipitation will have a major impact on the summer water supply forecast between now and the end of September. Streamflow volume forecasts will be updated monthly until mid-summer. Check our Forecaster's Comments throughout the month for updated information regarding runoff conditions.
