Reservoir Storage Conditions

As of July 1, 2008, water storage in the major irrigation reservoirs in the Oldman River basin is above normal, except for Chain Lakes Reservoir, which is normal. Water storage in the basin is generally similar to storage at this time last year for these reservoirs.

Storage volume in the Milk River Ridge Reservoir is above normal and similar to the storage at this time last year.

Water storage as of July 1, 2008 in the major hydroelectric and irrigation reservoirs of the Bow River basin range from normal to above normal except below normal at Upper Kananaskis Lake. Water storage compared to last year at this time varies.

Water storage in the Dickson Reservoir, in the Red Deer River basin, is above normal. Water storage is similar to this time last year.

In the North Saskatchewan River basin, water storage in the Brazeau Reservoir is normal and in Lake Abraham it is above normal, both are higher than at this time last year.

In the Athabasca River basin, water storage in the Paddle River Reservoir as of July 1, 2008 is normal and higher than at this time last year. Water storage in the South Heart Reservoir is above normal and similar to the storage at this time last year.
