Red Deer River Basin - Water Supply Forecasts

As of July 1, 2008, natural runoff volumes for the March to September 2008 period are forecast to be much above average into Dickson Dam and for the Red Deer River at Red Deer, at 151 and 134% of average, respectively (Table 5a). The current forecasted volume at Red Deer would rank 14th highest in 91-years of record (1912-2001).
 

The first four months of the forecast period have been completed, with March-June 2008 recorded runoff volumes being fourth highest on record at Dickson Dam and eleventh highest at Red Deer. Recorded volume data is preliminary and is subject to change. The remaining volume forecast, for July to September 2008, and available in Table 5b, is for above average natural runoff volumes.
