Red Deer River Basin - Water Supply Forecasts

As of March 1, 2007, natural runoff volumes for the March to September 2007 period are forecast to be above average into Dickson Dam and for Red Deer, at 111 and 108% of average, respectively (Table 6). This represents a rise of 3% of average at each location since the February 1 forecasts. The current forecasted volume at Red Deer would rank 60th lowest in 91-years of record (1912-2001). The March to September 2007 forecast volumes are 35 to 37% higher than those recorded during the same period last year.
