Reservoir Storage Conditions

As of October 1, 2008 storage volume in the Milk River Ridge Reservoir is normal and similar to storage at this time last year.

Water storage in the major irrigation reservoirs in the Oldman River basin is normal to above normal except for the Waterton Reservoir, which is below normal. Water storage in the basin is generally similar or higher than storage at this time last year. Keho Lake and St. Mary Reservoir water storage is substantially higher than at this time last year.

Water storage as of October 1, 2008 in the major hydroelectric and irrigation reservoirs of the Bow River basin is normal to above normal. Water storage compared to last year at this time is similar except for Glenmore Reservoir and Lake Newell which are lower.

Water storage in the Dickson Reservoir, in the Red Deer River basin, is normal. Water storage is similar to this time last year.

In the North Saskatchewan River basin, water storage in the Brazeau Reservoir is below normal and in Lake Abraham it is normal. Water storage in the Brazeau Reservoir is slightly lower than at this time last year.

In the Athabasca River basin, water storage in the Paddle River Reservoir as of October 1, 2008 is below normal and higher than at this time last year. Water storage in the South Heart Reservoir is normal and lower than the storage at this time last year.
