Reservoir Storage Conditions

As of September 1, 2005, water storage in the major irrigation reservoirs in the Oldman River basin is normal to above normal. Water storage in the basin is similar to this time last year.

Water storage as of September 1, 2005 in the major hydroelectric and irrigation reservoirs of the Bow River basin is above normal, except for Spray Lake, which is below normal. Water storage is generally similiar to storage last year at this time.

Water storage in the major reservoir of the Red Deer River basin is above normal. Water storage in the Dickson Reservoir is similar to this time last year.

Storage volumes in the major hydroelectric reservoirs in the North Saskatchewan River basin are above normal. Water storage is similar to storage last year at this time.

In the Athabasca River basin, the storage volume is below normal for the Paddle Reservoir and normal for the South Heart Reservoir. Water storage for the South Heart Reservoir is much higher than last year at this time. The Paddle River Reservoir storage is currently being drawn down for routine maintenance of the dam.
