Reservoir Storage Conditions

As of September 1, 2008, water storage in the major irrigation reservoirs in the Oldman River basin is normal to above normal except for Travers and Waterton Reservoirs, which are below normal. Water storage in the basin is generally similar or higher than storage at this time last year, except for Travers Reservoir which is lower.

Storage volume in the Milk River Ridge Reservoir is normal and similar to storage at this time last year.

Water storage as of September 1, 2008 in the major hydroelectric and irrigation reservoirs of the Bow River basin is normal to above normal. Water storage compared to last year at this time is similar except for Lake Newell which is lower.

Water storage in the Dickson Reservoir, in the Red Deer River basin, is above normal. Water storage is similar to this time last year.

In the North Saskatchewan River basin, water storage in the Brazeau Reservoir is below normal and in Lake Abraham it is above normal. Water storage is generally similar to last year at this time.

In the Athabasca River basin, water storage in the Paddle River Reservoir as of September 1, 2008 is below normal and higher than at this time last year. Water storage in the South Heart Reservoir is normal and lower than the storage at this time last year.
