Reservoir Storage Conditions

As of April 1, 2003, water storage in the major irrigation reservoirs in the Oldman River basin is above-normal, except the Waterton Reservoir which is below-normal (Table 1). Water storage in the major reservoir of the Red Deer River basin is normal (Table 2).

Water storage as of April 1, 2003 in the upper Bow River basin for the major hydroelectric reservoirs is below-normal (Lake Minnewanka and Spray Lake) to normal (Upper and Lower Kananaskis Lakes), whereas in the lower Bow River basin the major irrigation reservoirs are all above-normal (Table 3). Storage levels in the North Saskachewan River basin are normal (Table 4).
