Bow River Basin - Water Supply Forecasts

As of February 1, 2006, natural runoff volumes for the March to September 2006 period are forecast to range from below average to average in the Bow River basin. Natural runoff volumes are expected to be below average at Banff, Calgary, and the Cascade Reservoir, average for the Elbow River, and below average to average for the Kananaskis and Highwood Rivers and the Spray Lakes Reservoir (Table 5). Current natural runoff volume forecasts range from 89 to 96% of average in the basin, and for the Bow River at Calgary would rank 35th lowest in 91-years of record (1912-2001).
