Oldman River Basin - Water Supply Forecasts - Update

Based on precipitation received so far in the month of May, reasonable minimums (for the March to September 2002 forecast period) in the southern tributaries have increased slightly from the May 1 forecast. The reasonable minimum forecasts for the three southern tributaries have been revised as of May 17, 2002 and are shown below:

St. Mary River

May 1 Forecast Reasonable Minimum - 64 % of average
Revised Reasonable Minimum forecast as of May 17, 2002 - 483,000 dam3 or 64 % of average

Waterton River

May 1 Forecast Reasonable Minimum - 53 % of average
Revised Reasonable Minimum forecast as of May 17, 2002 - 375,000 dam3 or 57 % of average

Belly River

May 1 Forecast Reasonable Minimum - 65 % of average
Revised Reasonable Minimum forecast as of May 17, 2002 - 163,000 dam3 or 67 % of average
