Reservoir Storage Conditions

As of May 1, 2008, water storage in the major irrigation reservoirs in the Oldman River basin is generally below normal, except for Oldman Reservoir and Lake McGregor, which are normal. Water storage in the basin is generally less than this time last year for these reservoirs.

Storage volume in the Milk River Ridge Reservoir is below normal and similar to this time last year.

Water storage as of May 1, 2008 in the major hydroelectric and irrigation reservoirs of the Bow River basin is below normal except above normal at Lake Minnewanka and normal for Barrier Reservoir and Lower Kananaskis Lake. Water storage compared to last year at this time varies.

Water storage in the Dickson Reservoir, in the Red Deer River basin, is normal. Water storage is similar to this time last year.

In the North Saskatchewan River basin, water storage in Brazeau Reservoir and Lake Abraham are normal and is lower than at this time last year.

In the Athabasca River basin, water storage in the Paddle River Reservoir as of May 1, 2008 is below normal and lower than at this time last year. Water storage in the South Heart Reservoir is normal and similar to this time last year.
